I have five years experience of working as a dentist in a variety of different locations across the UK. I have treated a myriad of patients from all different backgrounds and this has helped me to gain the ability to communicate and build a rapport with patients from all walks of life.
I have worked both in primary care and secondary care (hospital) and have thorough knowledge of the dental services in the UK.
Following my undergraduate studies at the University of Birmingham, I went on to complete a year of NHS foundation training in Brighton and Hove. Subsequently, I was a Dental Core Trainee in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth. Since then, I have been an associate for three years in Milton Keynes.
Recently, I have gained my Master’s degree in Oral Surgery at the University of Central Lancashire. This training has given me a wider and deeper understanding of oral surgery and has allowed me to treat patients more effectively, especially with difficult extractions.
I am skilled in complex extractions requiring surgical removal. There is always a degree of satisfaction in being able to conduct these difficult procedures and alleviate patients’ pain. I am very good at treating nervous patients and many patients have commented on my kind and caring nature.
Treating children is another aspect of dentistry I thoroughly enjoy; parents and guardians have remarked on my ability to connect with children and make their dental visits much more pleasurable.
During my undergraduate studies, I received multiple prizes and awards including: The Cale-Matthews Prize in Paediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics, The Bowater Memorial Prize for Pharmacology and Therapeutics, The Bradnock Prize in Behavioural Science and The Preclinical Scholarship Prize.
I also achieved the Best Clinical Case Presentation award during my time as a foundation dentist in Sussex.
I have volunteered in a dental charity programme in India focusing on the provision of dentistry in less developed regions.
Outside of dentistry, I enjoy spending my free time travelling and exploring the world. I have recently been catching up on some old interests and have started to learn the piano again!
